Cyriopagopus sp. Hati Hati - Purple Earth Tiger
Description:
Scientific Name: Cyriopagopus sp. Hati Hati
Common Names: Purple Earth Tiger | Hati Hati Earth Tiger
The purple earth tiger is really as beautiful in person as it is in the pictures. A great looking species with dark tiger-striped hues of purple on it’s abdomen to go with it’s darkly colored femurs and a striking contrast with it’s lighter, bone-colored carapace.
As a sling, they will build webbed burrows at the base of structures and slowly become more arboreal as they grow. A hard-core old world tarantula with the looks and attitude to match. The “hati hati” will have no trouble turning and facing you down with a threat display, which you can trust they are not faking. A feisty adult can strike fangs-a-blazing, multiple times in a row, so heed the warning or you might be in for a painful experience. Their venom is thought to be medically significant, but there is no scientific data to support this as yet.
Truly a beautiful tarantula to have in your collection.
