Grammostola alticeps – Brazilian Grey Smoke
Description
Scientific Name: Grammostola alticeps
Common names: Brazilian Grey Smoke
Grammostola alticeps follows the common behavior patterns for the Grammostola genus by being docile, hardy and a pleasure to own. Slightly inquisitive and slow to get annoyed, you might find your Brazilian Grey Smoke tarantula getting nosey as you do maintenance around it’s enclosure, reaching out and trying to figure out what’s going on in it’s surroundings.
They aren’t particularly colourful tarantulas with an overall light brown to smokey-gray appearance, but they have a wonderful warm glow from the rich red-brown setae/hairs that are brightest on leg pairs 2, 3 and 4. They are quite relaxed and comfortable to stay out in the open and make great display tarantulas, but eat well and respond heartily to meals. Making them exciting to watch at feeding time.
