The Peruvian Orange Stripe is a large new world tarantula with pale rusty orange striping on the patella/knees that contrasts beautifully with the overall dark chocolate brown body of this tarantula. Some copper to purple iridescence can be seen on the carapace on a freshly molted specimen under good lighting.

 

Adult Size: Females (15cm to 17cm), Males (15cm to 16cm)

Type: New World, Terrestrial

Growth Rate: Slow to medium

Temperament: Calm, can be edgy or skittish

Lifespan: Females (20+ years) | Males (7-8 years)

Origin: Peru

Recommended Climate: 24-26°C (Summer), 18-22°C (Winter)

Recommended Humidity: 60-70%

Basic Enclosure Requirements: Terrestrial setup with at least 4 x the size of the spider in horizontal space, 5cm to 10cm of substrate with a shelter and a water dish.
