Phormingochilus sp. rufus - Peach Earth Tiger
Description
Scientific Name: Phormingochilus sp. “rufus”
Common names: Peach Earth Tiger | Mr Stretchy Pants
From the Indonesian island of Java, the beautiful Peach Earth tiger, also called “Mr Stretchy Pants” is a gorgeous old world arboreal tarantula. They have beautiful peach to orange coloration over most their bodies with a gorgeious tiger-striped pattern on their abdomen. Their colors turn to darker burnt orange tones once reaching larger sizes.
This is one of those arboreal species that also likes to burrow and may create a shelter that is part underground and part vertical/arboreal. Ensure that your enclosures have a fair amount of substrate as well as a vertical piece of driftwood or cork bark so your specimen can build a home to it’s specific liking.
This is a feisty old world species that displays snap-defensive behaviours, take care and be cautious when feeding or conducting maintenance.
