Tliltocatl schroederi - Mexican Black Velvet
Description
Scientific Name: Tliltocatl schroederi
Previously: Brachypelma schroederi
Common name: Mexican Black Velvet
Great for beginners. The Mexican Black Velvet is reasonably new in the market, originally pretty scarce these are now readily available and selling at affordable prices. Tliltocatl schroederi looks very similar to Grammostola pulchra with it’s velvet black appearance from toe to toe. Growth rate is slow and at 10 to 12cm this species also does not grow as large as Grammostola pulchra.
You can expect their temperament to be very similar to all Brachypelma. Skittish and nervous as slings but mellowing and slowing down with age, becoming chilled adults that are also great display animals which are happy to hang out in the open.
